JIN JUN MEI BLACK TEA

WHAT IT IS Considered by many to be the highest-quality black tea from China, this ultra premium tea consists of hand-selected, hand-rolled tea leaf buds harvested in early spring. This tea is extremely rare, as it comes from plants grown at very high altitudes – 4,500 feet above sea level. Also, it consists of only the smallest buds of the tea plant – making its harvesting a very time and labor consuming process (it takes 50,000 buds to make about 1 lb of this tea – which would require a full day of work by 20 experienced tea pluckers).

FLAVOR NOTES Many say that this is the best black tea they have ever tasted. A delicate, smooth, rich, floral flavor envelopes the senses and is completed by a dark, tasty, chocolaty aroma.

BACKGROUND The name of the tea – Jin Jun Mei – translates as “golden handsome brow” and refers to the tender yellow tips of the tiny leaf buds from which the tea is made.
